A Little Weary Parent Whining
Before I even start let me just preface this with, yes, I love my kids and yes, I am very grateful for the opportunity to work from home while raising them. However, it is Friday, the first month of school is over and I am DOG TIRED. Make that WEARY.
So far this month I have packed 60 lunches, made 30 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, 30 bologna or salami sandwiches, and come up with 30 creative ideas to pack protein for the child who won’t eat a sandwich.
I have made driven back and forth to the middle school at least 30 times and at least 30 trips to the elementary school.
And then there are the trips to gymnastics practice three times a week, ice hockey three times a week, and luckily art class overlaps with gym so no extra trip there.
I have signed countless pieces of paper, written our name, address and other information too many times to count, and checked homework everyday.
I have hosted afterschool playdates, a few sleepovers and will host a birthday party for 15 girls at our house on Sunday.
Did I mention laundry? Oh my. Minimum of two loads a day. Dishes? Never ending. And I still have to get my work done.
Enough whining!!! I love being a Mom, and the craziness of it all does keep me young at heart, but right now, I just want a NAP.
Have a great weekend!

I, too, am a member of your club. Running a household full of children is a tiring job. If only I had full time time staff (cook, chauffeur, butler, maid ….)

Neena - I hear you. I did hire a cleaning service to come in twice a month. It has made such a difference in my sanity. They do the deep cleaning that I just don’t have the time to do - and it actually saves me about 4 hours a week that I can be earning money but it only takes them 1.5 hours to do it.
