About Kids Cutting Grass
I was cruising around the Home Parenting at About.com and saw this topic being discussed and it took me back to when my kids were that age. To be quite honest I don’t remember either one of them cutting the grass before they hit their teens. And then it was only my son who took on this chore. Britt preferred to cook so I let her, and Jamie did his bit by cutting the grass. But I just thought of something interesting.
When we were kids, Dad would go ballistic if the rows of freshly cut grass were not perfectly straight. I don’t think that my sister or I did it on purpose?? but we got out of cutting grass a lot simply because he thought that he could do a better job.
Now Jamie couldn’t cut grass in a straight line if his life depended on it and I don’t remember his father or I caring all that much.
How fastidious are you when it comes to chores around the house?? And do you pay your kids to do those chores?

Dusting is something my 5 year old can help with. I really don’t care how well is does/doesn’t get done. I can say it was dusted, and she’s proud to help. Now, laundry, only my hubby gets to fold. He’s too particular, and I’m happy not to do it!!!
