Camp Weary Parent Rocks Out

by char on July 14th, 2008

For Camp Weary Parent this week, we are going to have fun with summertime TV - like Camp Rock, Trading Spaces, America’s Got Talent and Survivor. I sat down with the kids and watched a tivo-ed version of Camp Rock over the weekend and thought it was pretty cute. The girls have since watched the sing along version more times than I can count. Since they have a friend spending the evening, they are going to put on their own Campfire Jam for me.

Each of the girls is going to pick one song to make their own  (we got the lyrics for Camp Rock at Lyrics Mania) and they will sing back up on the others. They are going to raid the dress-up box and closet to come up with the most outrageous costumes and props. And they have to make a stage of some sort.

This should keep them busy for a while!!

Stop back in tomorrow for another Camp Weary Parent activity.

My dd’s Dress up box provided hours of fun for her whole posse. I made it from scouring the consignment stores of halloween and dance recital costumes and also the 8 bridesmaid dresses (cut short)I had buried in my closet AND a bunch of hidious clothes my MIL passed on to me to ACTUALLY WEAR– LOL.I cut and took in a few things with no attention to detail. I wrapped the box up and it was a birthday present for her and she LOVED IT and we continually added to it! Garage Sales are a great resource too! Don’t for get some boas and wigs - New ones - I’m not a total cheapskate!
