EZSchool Supplies Giveaway
UPDATED WITH WINNER - The winner is Elizabeth F. from The Whole Family.
WearyParent is participating in the mega-giveaway carnival at Bloggy Giveaways this week. With the return to school looming right around the corner, it is just about time to start shopping for school supplies. With three kids in different grades and schools, I have often wished I could just hand the teacher a check and have them hand my child all the school supplies needed for the year. Just think of the money and time you could save. EZSchoolSupplies.com has been reading Moms’ minds!!
EZSchoolSupplies.com is a one stop shop for school supplies. Schools and teachers can register their supply lists with EZSchoolSupplies and then time-crunched Moms like me can look up the school/teacher, chose the appropriate school supply pack, and the supplies will arrive in the mail. No driving all over town or waiting in lines. And the school can benefi, too, because EZSchoolSupplies gives 10% of the school’s sales back to the school.
As part of the Bloggy Giveaways, we are giving away a sample EZ Supply Pack full of school supplies like construction paper, 3 ring binder, dividers, graph paper, scissors, ruler, pencil box, markers, erasers, and more. (see photo)

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on THIS post telling us your favorite part of back-to-school shopping, least favorite part, or if you have a funny, interesting, or weird back-to-school shopping experience to share, that works, too! You have until midnight on July 31, 2008 to leave a comment and be entered. The winner will be announced Friday, August 1.
Can’t wait to get started on your back-to-school supply shopping? The EZSchoolSupplies team have given us a special discount code so you can save 10% on your school supply order! Go to the area on the EZSchoolSupplies home page that says “Shop for Supplies,” and choose the supplies you want. After all the items are placed in the shopping cart, proceed to checkout. At step 2 of checkout, the coupon discount box is where you will type in the special discount code: EZMB079, (case sensitive) and the discount will be calculated! The code has no expiration date. Their customer service staff is available Monday through Friday if you need any assistance.

I love this idea! I wish one of my children’s schools would do bulk supply purchases. My least favorite thing about school supply shopping is that there is always one item that is impossible to find. My favorite thing is seeing the pile of shiny, new supplies sorted out for each of the children.

My favorite part of back to school shopping is when I can get things for great deals. I will visit a different store each week to get the best deal for EACH item in the lists.

My favorite part of back to school is getting new school supplies. I could shop for school supplies almost every day. I don’t enjoy sitting in the dressing room with my 12 year old daughter trying on fifty zillion pairs of jeans, though!

My favorite part of back to school shopping has to be helping my son pick out his backpack and lunchbox. Such fun!

Oh. Oh. Oh. I am hyperventilating now at this glorious prize. As a teacher, it seems I’m always in need of supplies for projects. Whenever I get a brilliant idea for a lesson, I find my supply closet empty. Which means choosing between spending my own money on the supplies or doing without.
I absolutely LOVE shopping for supplies. Our finances have been really tight this summer so I haven’t gotten to buy anything yet. But every time I see new ads for school supplies, I start getting excited. So pick me! Pick me!

What a neat concept! I hate shopping, all together. Dealing with rude people that push & shove, or take the whole isle annoys me, lol.

My least favorite part is trying to find my girls the correct uniform parts, by the time school comes they’ve been raided here. This year I am taking a proactive stance I am slowly buying the clothes - except my kindergardner may not have that coveted blue polo she needs. And pants..so hard. Seriously my kids look like they are off to work at Target some days. LOL

Okay…my MOST fav part of back to school shopping is the excitement for the kids. They LOVE school and get really excited knowing it is getting close to time. My LEAST fav part is not finding something on the ‘LIST”…you know. The THING everyone in town is OUT OF.

My favorite thing about back to school shopping is seeing the kids get excited about starting school.
My least favorite is that we never get supply list ahead of time, and there is always something that they need that we can’t find because by the time we get the list, all the stores have limited selection.

My favorite part of back to school is new clothes for me and the kids! My least favorite is that I don’t always have enough money for all of the things that we need! I’m a teacher, so back to school means back to work for me, which of course, is always hard!

I HATE back to school shopping. what I hate the most, crowds! Too many people examining the pencil lead to see if it will write. Sometimes I just want to yell at them to pick up a package and move onto the markers. I wish it was easier to shop for school!

I love when school supplies go on sale for cheap this time of year. Not only can I stock up on stuff for my kids, but we also take the time to pick out items for the Operation Christmas Child boxes we put together each year.

My favorite thing is letting my son pick out his backpack. My least favorite thing is that really long sometimes outrageous list from the school. I mean how much glue does a 1st grader need (2 bottles and 22 glue sticks)? Most of it came home……

I love back to school shopping. I home school, but we still have the annual shopping trip. I think the excitement of opening a new box of pencils, or using a brand new folder doesn’t disappear even when you are past that age!

My favourite part of back to school shopping is getting fresh new things to use - I’ve loved buying notebooks and pens since I was a little kid.
As a university student, the part I dislike is the cost of textbooks.

My favorite part of shopping for school supplies is the SMELL! It reminds me of my freshly-packed school bag at the beginning of a new school year. That combination of waxy crayons, woodsy pencils, rubbery erasers, and the ink on paper…mmmm. :) It smells like Potential.

This looks cool. My kids are already in school, started July 21. They got most of what they needed this year but last year was a disaster. Walmart and most other stores around town had folders. Folders with pockets or folders with brads, but not folders with brads AND pockets like all the school specified. Picture aisles of frazzled parents mumbling and digging through everything searching for them.

Jul 28, 2008 at 9:40 am
My least favorite part is the $$$ it costs for supplies and clothing.
My favorite part is that my husband gets a 1/2 day off once a month and when the kids are in school that means we have from about 11 AM - about 3:30 PM for just US and no kids. We never get out as a couple so the only time we can do couple things (lunch, a movie…) is when he has half days. It doesn’t work in the summer when they kids are home. Then it’s a family thing.

We don’t have the option to purchase these, since we homeschool. But this is a nice giveaway. I would say my favorite part of back to school shopping is shopping when the supplies are on sale and letting my kids pick what they want and not worrying about spending to much money.

My least favorite part is school clothes shopping. Ugh, my soon to be 13 year old is sooo picky. She just HAS to have the coolest and lastest styles of clothes. Lucky for me she’s not so picky about notebooks and folders and such, so I can at least get a little break there.

As a teacher, I still get excited about back-to-school shopping! I get so happy making a pencil box full of goodies for each of my preschoolers. I hate the fact that school supplies are out right after the 4th of July, though…isn’t that a depressing way to celebrate the summer being half-over? At least wait until August, please?

I always loved getting new school supplies as a kid, and I’m really looking forward to school supplies for my kids. We are homeschooling our eldest starting this fall, so I am sure we would love this set!
The thing that was the worst for me at school shopping time was - since my mom is a teacher, she would always have a zillion really bad quality really ugly pencils…I always had the worst looking pencils…sometimes with chew marks from other people! YUCK!
Mommie Daze
Jul 28, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Well, I always see the back to school stuff in the stores and want to buy it, but I don’t have anyone in school yet. There’s just something about new pencils, and blank notebooks waiting to be written in. A new year of fresh starts and possibilities. If I win this I have some friends I’ll give it too.

Well, basically I hate back to school shopping because it means my kids are going to be gone all the time - and I’ll become Mom’s taxi service again. But if I HAD to pick a favorite part - I guess it would be clothes shopping with my daughters for their new back to school clothes.

My least favorite part is actually trying to find items in stock. The deals end up getting so good that you can’t find the stuff you need. I’ve already experienced that with the folders & notebooks my daughter needs for 6th grade & it isn’t even aug yet, ugh!

Neat! As a homeschooling mom, I have it a little easier with school supplies (like I don’t have to supply some other teacher with kleenex and red pens because I AM the teacher!) but we still need all the basic stuff, too. I love shopping for school supplies but not the actual shopping part - it’s the NEW-ness of the stuff. I’m a weirdo when it comes to new pads of paper and unopened pencils. Breathe it in. Smile.
One of the things I miss about growing up in public school is the back to school shopping for supplies, backpacks, school clothes, etc - so I try to do all the back to school stuff for my kids, too. Even though we just finished one year two weeks earlier and are moving right into the next after a short break. It lets us get in on the excitement, too. :)
Thanks for the giveaway!

We are just entering the school supply party this year as my son enters Kindergarten. I have been watching sales and stocking up as we go along, because his school doesn’t give the lists until the first day of school so we have NO IDEA what he will actually need. I figure they don’t expire, so I just stock up on all the good deals as I see them;) Thanks!

What a great idea! My favorite part is finding really great sales. My least favorite parts are the crowds and taking the list of suggested items the school sends home, buying the stuff, sending it in to school only to have half of it sent back home. They should update their lists!

We homeschool, but obviously, we still need school supplies. These would work just fine for us. What I like about school shopping is the fact that I can come school shopping before the public/private school crowds or after because my girls are home and there is no deadline. I usually stock up and keep a supply closet at home so that I’m not in the packed aisles at the store. I hate that, and most of the time, there is some weird supply on the teacher list that you can’t find anyway, and it’s frustrating. On homeschool mommy/teacher’s list, I know what I need for them, and I know what I’m looking for. No frustration. It’s been great to be back homeschooling again. That’s my story. Thanks for the chance to win.

I love back to school shopping because it always reminds me how much I used to love school. It was always so exciting getting pick out that special notebook or folder.
The only thing I hate now is that my daughters school waits so long to post the list of needed supplies so we have to scrounge around at the last minute.

I love taking her to pick out the little things she likes ( I always liked picking out my folders and stuff with the cute designs) So far my least favorite is not getting a school supply list untilt he first week of school! Im a planner and would like to have it done!

what a great idea. my oldest is only 4 1/2 so I haven’t had to officially go school supply shopping yet. But that doesn’t mean I don’t make up an exscuse to go. Just today I was at Office Depot checking out all there great deals on school supplies. I know next year this will come in handy.

I love snagging all the bargains I can as I homeschool my kids. The crayons and markers ect - also make great last minute gifts when your child is unexpectely invited to a birthday party!

I’ve always loved back-to-school shopping for all the pens and pencils and crayons and paper and erasers and markers and EVERYTHING. When I was a kid, my favorite stores were office supply store. I guess probably it would have really been art stores, but my mom managed an office, not an art school, so I made do with what I had available to me. :)
Of course, then I didn’t want to USE any of it…

My least favorite part of back to school shopping is the cost, with 4 kids to buy for it does get expensive. I try to buy a few things each week in the summer, things I think they will need.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My least favorite is the lack of eco-friendly items. I don’t buy them for my kids as I don’t have any but my husband just got a job as a teacher in a small school so I’m sure he can find a kid that really needs supplies!

I love back-to-school shopping the first three times or so. After going back again and again and not finding what we need, that’s when it gets frustrating. For the most part it is a fun time to spend individual time with my children - and having 4 that is so important.
Please enter me in this contest! Thank you.

My fave part of school shopping is stocking up on CHEAP essentials- crayons, pencils & paper.
I dislike looking for backpacks, though. It is hard to please the 4 of my 5 boys that are in school.

It’s funny but even though we “Homeschool” we still get VERY excited about walking down the school supply aisle and smelling the erasers and touching the rulers and getting a new box of crayons. Okay I”ll stop I’m starting to get excited again. It was my favorite part of school growing up lol. That and picking out your new lunch pale. With 3 kids homeschooling we would gladly take that off your hands lol. Count me in!

We homeschool, but I LOVE shopping for school supplies. I take advantage of this time of the year to stock up on lots of goodies. I love seeing fresh new notebooks and pencils and crayons in nice clean pencil boxes. :-)
I do NOT like getting in the crowd to dig through bins for the bargain stuff!

My favorite part of back to school shopping is shopping for supplies. I get giddy around freshly sharpened pencil, lol. I love organizational supplies, so folders, boxes, binders they are all kinda my thing.
My least favorite part is school CLOTHES shopping. Ick! Makes me sad just typing about it. My son thinks his butt looks big in everything and my daughter wants to be a nudist. It makes for quite an experience trying to clothes shop with them.

My least fav. part is when there is that one obscure item that you just can’t find. Like a plastic 3 brad folder in BLUE, it’s gotta be blue and you can find every color of the rainbow but blue!
Love it! I’d love to be entered!
Thanks,

My favorite part is that all of our schools have finally gone to uniforms (yea!). My least favorite part is that the schools always publish the school supply list and I try to get a head start but then each individual teacher has their own list (completely different, of course!).

I haven’t done back-to-school shopping for some time, but may have to this year for the grandchildren since my daughter is very ill. This will bring back memories of the thrill of school shopping in my childhood. My sister and I always got new “back-to-school” dresses. (Yes, girls HAD to wear skirts and dresses in those days, not pants, jeans or shorts.)

Maybe I am weird, but I love every part of school shopping! I get all giddy shopping for pens and pencils and stuff like that! I can spend hours at office supply stores just wandering around. Boy,this is a great idea.I have four kids and back to school shopping can become overwhelming but it’s worth it to see how excited the kids get with their new supplies.I love to shop for goodies very early in the year and get the folders for 10 / $1 or ruled paper dirt cheap.I love the glittery pencils for my daughter. It brings back some good memories from my own youth. Thanks for this great opportunity to win.

well this one time about two years ago i went back to school shopping on one of those days where everything is on sale so it was completely PACKED, one thing you should know..i’m a very clumsy person i trip a lot over my own shoelaces or on air hehe really that’s true so don’t make fun of me, actually you can it’s okay i don’t mind hehe, um.. i was looking for a three inch binder that we were required to get and i had such a hard time trying to find one because pretty much all they had were one inch binders, but then i saw it way high up on this shelf thing and because i’m five two i couldn’t reach all the way up there, which was about a foot higher than i could reach, i saw this little ladder somewhere off to the side so i got it and started to climb it…well i kinda might have leaned a little too far on one side of it so it ended up tipping over and causing me to fall right on these stacks of sheets of college ruled paper!!!! it was sooo embarrassing especially since it happened in front of some people from school it was horrible but after getting over the fact that it was so embarrassing i just laughed along with everyone else : )
great give away hope to win!!!

UGH what I hate about back to school shopping is every dang body thinking they are the only people in the world taking up whole aisles and sticking stuff wherever if they decide not to get it. People are rude, obnoxious and clueless. And of course they NEVER have everything on the list, not one store, not one time.
She loves it so much we are having a giveaway of our own and she is personally picking out a backpack and bunch of supplies for the winner.
Would love to win some I didn’t have to pay for myself so am entering yours. :)
What I love is that the littlest Diva ADORES everything about it touching stuff, picking it out, smelling it for crying out loud.

I actually love shopping for school supplies. I try to buy extra things when I see them on sale during the year so that when the big rush hits I don’t have to do as much. But…I could spend all day just looking at paper products and writing utensils!! I only have one in school this year but I bought some fun at home school supplies for my little one too:)

My least favorite part of school shopping are the teacher lists. I know that they are supposed to be helpful, but most of the time my kids don’t even use the stuff on their lists. Plus, does it really matter that much if the binder is 2″ or 3″? Also, the expense gets worse each year!!!!

what a great idea. My favorite part of back to school shopping is knowing that my daughter will be seeing her friends again soon and that makes her real happy. I hate how they get the list of supplies the first day of school and then have to fight the mobs to get a 1 1/2 inch (certain color) binder and the rest of the supplies.

Kid in preschool so truly, I’m a horrible mommy since I don’t buy her new school clothes.
I do recall that school buying season had a smell. A very specific school type of smell. I can’t describe it, but the school smelled the same way. It can’t just be me that noticed it.
Yuck. I hated that smell!
