He Cut Open His Shoes

Jamie went through a period when all the boys in his class had to have cool shoes. To be quite honest, I don’t remember shoes being a big deal, even when I was in high school… that came much later for “me”. But Jamie wanted these shoes and while on holiday with his grandparents, he somehow convinced them to buy him these shoes.

He pretty much wore them into the ground and before they were ready for the garbage, he decided to cut open the soles to see how they were put together. And while he was cutting open the soles, the knife slipped. Lets just say, thank goodness his father was home and there was an emergency room close by.

So why am I telling you all of this?? LOL… I’m just preparing all of you young mothers for what is to come. Boys do stuff like this. Like the time he rode his tricycle down a flight of stairs. That was another trip to the hospital.

It’s like they say… little boys are made of… Gee, it’s been so long, I’ve forgotten how that goes.

That’s a good and scary warning for anyone!

    Michele sent me this way.

    Michele sent me over.

That’s got to be scary–seeing all that blood. You always worry about tendon and nerve damage when it comes to the hands. I’m glad it turned out okay for your son, Weary Parent.

Wasn’t it something like snails and puppydog tails that they’re made of?

As the mother of a son..AMEN. My son has had stitches…staples…and lots of ER trips. The scariest thing he tried to take apart? Batteries. I about flipped but he was such a proud and curious 7 year old.

When I think of all the crazy things I did when I was a little guy, I’m amazed that I made it to adulthood in one piece.

I knew we were in trouble when I’d show up at the ER and I’d be on a first-name basis with the nurses. And I was only 6!

ah i have two sons. one nearing 14 years the other nearing 14 months. both of them are handsome charming angels. then they wake up and drive me crazy. my older son has a “bumb” on his forehead that is actually a calcium deposit from where he CRACKED HIS SKULL on the back bumber of his grandfathers pickup truck when he was just 3 years old. the doctors at the emergency room know my first name on sight, and one even calls me honey. but i love having sons.
