Kicking off Camp Weary Parent

While yesterday was the first official day of Camp Weary Parent, I am making today the kick off day! So, what is Camp Weary Parent? As a mom of three busy tweens, I am determined to avoid the “Mom, I’m Bored” woes of summer by having my own informal camp for the summer.

How it works!

Each week this summer will have a theme and each day, Monday through Friday, will have an activity that goes with the theme. Activities will include games, projects, crafts, food, research/library/exploration time, and a field trip. Some of the activities will be short and some long. My kids will be busy with their sports and playing with friends, but Camp Weary Parent will help fill the gaps, keep the kids sharp over the summer, keep boredom at bay, and facilitate more family time. We may even have a few contests and giveaways along the way.

As the different themes are announced, share your ideas for activities with us in the comments. Did you and the kids do any of the activities? Well, take pictures and share them with us! Either post the pictures and activity summaries on your own site or leave me a note in the comments and I’ll get in touch with you and you can email the goods to me.
