kids, tweens, teens, big sisters, even moms Partying in pj’s Slumber parties: a sleeper hit with girls of all ages
“Who goes to sleepover parties these days? Girls of EVERY age. And, slumber parties seem to be way cooler than ever.
Girls have found a few new things to do: video games have replaced Ouija boards and the girls troll MySpace - sometimes leaving bogus instant messages - instead of making prank calls.
As for the now grown-up women who struggled to keep their eyes open to watch the early days of “Saturday Night Live,” they still like getting together with girlfriends in the relaxed environment that comes naturally with flannel PJs. They just sip wine instead of soda.”
5 Rules for Slumber Parties… according to my parents (many moons ago).
1. Don’t wake up the neighbors.
2. No throwing people into the shower.
3. No leaving the house.
4. Be nice to each of your guests. No playing favorites with your own circle of friends.
5. Menu must be 3/4 healthy, 1/4 junk food!
Those rules were written after my one and only slumber party so you can imagine just how much fun we had! Hey, I was young and foolish ;) Kids are a lot more sophisticated these days… I hope.
But I do have some great memories and now I hear that they are for “big girls” too. Hmmm… So, when was the last time your tweens went to a slumber party and any stories to share??
