Let Them Get Dirty
Okay, I’m obviously not talking about teens here, because they aren’t going to listen to you anyway, but this is more targeted at kids that liked to go outside and build forts, climb trees and search for all the puddles they can find.
I can’t remember the number of times I had to work grass stains out of knees of blue jeans, but I can guarantee, that when my kids went out to play each day, they didn’t have to worry about coming home and getting into trouble because their clothes were dirty.
We did have one rule however. When they came home from school, they did have to change their clothes. It’s one thing for them to get their play clothes dirty, it’s something else to get their school clothes covered in mud and grass.
Oh, I didn’t mean to go off in a tangent, I wanted to talk about rubber boots and how neccessary they are to the happiness of kids. And just look at the colors. You can do some pretty good puddle jumping in boots like these!! And they come in a wide range of sizes too. :)
