Take Time to Reflect Today
With today being the 7th anniversary of the tragic events of 9-11, take time to reflect with your children. Chances are, they were like mine - too young to understand or remember the horror of the day.
On the morning when the world stopped turning, my oldest was in Kindergarten, I had just dropped my daughter off at preschool, and I was pregnant with my youngest. My husband was away on travel and as I watched the events unfold in front of my eyes, it was hard to fathom and my heart just broke for all the people who lost loved ones.
That day changed all of our lives in so many ways.
In 2006 we took a family trip to New York City. The boys were lucky enough to get a very special tour of Ground Zero (pictured above) and they spent the morning at one of the fire departments. This really helped bring meaning and understanding to us all on the enormity of it all.
Wear your colors today, say a little prayer, and take a few minutes to reflect with your family.

DD was in preschool, and DS was just a twinkle in his father’s eye. It’s amazing how time flies.

It’s hard to believe that 7 years have passed. It really seems like just yesterday.
