talking to your teen“Do teenagers even speak the same language as adults? Many parents of teens are quick to respond with an emphatic “no” as they search for ways to communicate effectively and to banish the power struggle that seems to take place from sun up to sun down.”

Definitely remember those days. In Jamie’s mind, we simply had no idea what life was like now and as a result, we had no idea what he was experiencing. Thank god, he came around.

Wow. I am really not looking forward to those days! I know what a pain I was as a teenager. I hope I don’t pass that trait on!

They really do come around…and then they start telling you things that you really don’t want to know! *smile*

Sean, 19 almost 20, has started to come to my husband and me for advice. Shocking when considering just a year or two ago he thought we were the stupidest two people on earth.

Kerri… I was the same way. Little did I know that I would have a son that is just like me.

Hsien… yes, your little guy will probably grow up to be just like his mom. It’s like we’re being given “a taste of our own medicine”.

Dani… yes Jamie thought we were as thick as bricks. Oh the fights that took place. He wouldn’t listen to anything we had to say!
