“Why is Rohypnol called the “date rape drug”?
Rohypnol has been associated with date rape, and has also been called the “Forget Pill,” “Trip-and-Fall,” and “Mind-Erasers.” In combination with alcohol, it can induce a blackout with memory loss and a decrease in resistance. Girls and women around the country have reported being raped after being involuntarily sedated with Rohypnol, which was often slipped into their drink by an attacker. The drug has no taste or odor so the victims don’t realize what is happening. About ten minutes after ingesting the drug, the woman may feel dizzy and disoriented, simultaneously too hot and too cold, or nauseated.”
Not something most moms or dads want to think about happening to their teen, but it is around and we need to educate ourselves and our kids about the dangers.

Yea parents need to talk with the teens about going to parties, even though they don’t want them to go to them. It is very common for girls to go to parties and not drink, but the minute they leave their pop or what every they are drinking out of their eyesight for a few minutes or seconds they should not drink it. They should get another. Safely put they need to make sure what ever they do drink comes from an un-opened container so that is not tampered with. I have seen guys make some pretty potent punches that will pretty much knock you off your feed with a 8 oz cup. Thats not nothing when the girls are up around dancing and sweating, they will down about 4-5 of them with in a short time, and before they know it they are drunker than a guy that is an alcoholic and drinks from the time they get up till they go to sleep. You never know who may be lurking at a party, it might even be your best friend. Drugs and alcohol will make the nicest guy do some pretty stupid things. There are many other drugs out there but the one in this article is one of the most popular. Be safe and teach your child about these uneasy topics, you could save your child and yourself a lot of grief.
