Tween Speak Translator
Their fingers are texting at unbelievable speeds and the email messages look like they are in code. What are they saying? Colleen at GeekySpeaky tipped me off to the The English-to-12-Year-Old-AOLer Translator. It’s just for fun, but you can type in a message and have it translate your message into tween speak.
Here is my message:
H3Y GIRLS!1!!!!1 WTF LOL WUT R U DONG 2DAY?!?!?!!? OMG WANT 2 GO 2 TEH MAL AND G3T SOME NU CLOTHAS??!??!??? WTF LOL I WANT NU SHOAS 2!111!!1!! OMG LOL
Adult translation:
Hey girls! What are you doing today? Want to go to the mall and get some new clothes? I want new shoes too.

Ack! I’m so sorry - your trackback got caught by Akismet and was deleted. Can you resubmit it?

That is so funny, it would take less time to type out the actual message. I’m so glad that I blocked text’ing on my daughter’s phone. Talking is way faster.

Heh heh. My 30something friend has a 15-year-old sister who texts nonstop. She’s so up on the kidspeak, it just cracks me up. And she teases her sister by intentionally messing up, like saying stuff is “the boom” instead of “da bomb.” It’s pretty funny.
