My son is counting down the hours until the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7)
My son didn’t really start reading Harry Potter until this year - up until 6 months ago, he just didn’t really have any interest in the series - but once he buzzed through the first one, he was hooked. He read the entire series of the first 6 books in a matter of months - it proved to be a great strategy for his Accelerated Reader score at school.
The seven books in the series are:
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Book 1)
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3)
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7)

For some reason the poll isn’t working for me, but the first book is still my favourite. I really felt like someone was being lifted out of something terrible when Harry left his uncle’s and aunt’s house.
A boy battling the very dangerous essence of evil is preferable to a boy who is being neglected and abused.
