What Went Right This Week? Time to Brag About Your Kids
This was such a hectic week for me. The kids were off school Monday and Tuesday - which meant more time with friends and some sleeping in. Wednesday and Friday I was out of my home office all day and Thursday was as normal as it could be. Looking back, this week is basically a blur, but we all handled it in style and there was plenty of positive to be found.
Thursday was report card day so I get to do some bragging on my kids today.
Mr. N got his first Middle School report card and had a very respectable 6 A’s and 3 B’s. One of the B’s was in SCOPE English (our county’s version of the gifted/talented program) and the teacher has extremely high expectations. It is nice to see he is adjusting well to Middle School and balancing it nicely with ice hockey. The best part is that he seems to be coming out of his shell a bit and broadening his circle of friends.
Miss M was so proud of her straight A’s for the first quarter of 4th grade. She also does competitive gymnastics which means practice 3 days a week, plus she goes into school early one morning a week for running club - she likes that because she always beats the boys in her class. Like so many student athletes, she truly is a self-starter. Her project that is due on November 30 for English was completed last weekend and has already been turned in - all self initiated.
Miss N also had a glowing Kindergarten report card. The biggest surprise was that during the first quarter awards assembly at school she was awarded the Principal’s Award for Citizenship. They gave out one per grade level. After spending so many years watching her older brother and sister shine, receive awards and get prizes, it was so cool to see her get one of her own.
So, how did your week go? What did your kids accomplish, do right or do to make you smile? Brag away - we want to know!!!

Congrats on all your kids’s recent accomplishments! My daughter is also in her first year of middle school, and she really loves it. I’m so glad, because everyone was telling me how tough an adjustment it was going to be. Maybe that’s still to come, but so far so good.
What went well for us last week? Well, my daughter had a gymnastics meet on Saturday and received blue ribbons (the best one) for every event. Yay!

Kelly - congrats to your daughter! I know all about those blue ribbons - I coach Level 4 gymnastics and my girls have their first meet this weekend and my daughter is a Level 5 and she competes this weekend too.

Congrats! My little one just started gymnastics and looks so cute trying to follow all the little kids.
What went right for us? My daughter is very clingy, and yesterday was the first time she ran into class not seeming to care I was even there. Yay!
