Would You Bail Your Kid Out of Jail?
You may have heard that Barron Hilton, the eighteen-year-old brother of Paris and Nikki, was arrested for DUI two days ago. Apparently he called his sister, Paris, to pay his $20,000 bail and get him out of jail, but she refused, telling him he needs to learn his lesson. I guess he didn’t learn from Paris’ mistake with her own DUI arrest and 45 days of jail time.
This brings me to an important question. What would you do if your teen was in jail and called you to bail him/her out?
I’m ashamed to admit my dad had to pick me up from jail one day when I was a teenager. Along with two of my friends, I tried to steal a cassette tape from Target and got caught. The store dropped the charges, but I was still forever changed by that day. I spent a couple hours in the police station. I had to call my dad to come get me. I sobbed as I told him where I was and why. When he got there he took one look at me and I knew before he even said it. He was very disappointed in me. I was very disappointed in myself. My days of thievery ended that day. To this day I won’t even take a pen from work.
I’m not sure what I would do if I ever got a call that one of my kids is in jail, but I think it would depend on the circumstances. Hopefully I won’t ever have to find out.

I agree. I think it would depend on the circumstances.
Also, I’m glad Paris Hilton didn’t bail out her brother. Sounds like she might be growing up a little. ;)
